Use Natural Light

Author: Nathalie St-Pierre Roths

A natural light can really help you take beautiful photos of your baby’s skin without looking blotchy. Look for a glowing source of light from a strong indirect source of light (such as a window, for example).

Don’t use your flash. Before you take your photo, watch where the shadows fall. Also, act quickly when you find an ideal indirect light source because natural light change constantly as the time of day passes.

A dog’s life…

Author: Nathalie St-Pierre Roths

Ah, loafing around! This is what’s dogs probably think when they rest. It is also what came to my mind when I went on the website www.upsidedowndogs.com

This morning, when I came back from the gym, they were talking a lot about this website. Dog lover, hang on! This site devotes itself to publish dog pictures from ordinary people. And all the subjects on the pictures are… upside down! The photos are both cute and hilarious.

A good way to start a week at Notes and Photos!

Here it is! When August comes to an end, it is often the time to say good-bye to summer! It is also the last chance to have a last weekend camping trip with your kids! They grow way too fast; enjoy these precious moments.

Sunday, August 30th, is the National Marshmallow Toasting Day so why don’t you celebrate this event with your kids in front of a fire camp and some good music!

Enjoy a good s’more for me!

Motivation source

Author: Nathalie St-Pierre Roths

When we start a small enterprise, we are sure that it will work but also, we also have periods of discouragement by moment. When these days come by, I always think of people who inspire me by their courage and determination.

One of these persons is the athlete Maggie Vessey, a 28-years old American, who is originally from the region where I live. On the last July 10th, she won first place in the 800-meters race in Rome, which made her the fastest woman on the planet in the 800-meters challenge.

Maggie made lots of sacrifices to be at the point where she is. She missed the Beijing Olympics by a thin line and thought her running career was over 18 months ago. It would have been easy to give up then but she wisely surrounded herself with a strong supportive team. By coincidence, one of her running coaches is the trainer of the track club I belong to.

To have such a motivation and courage example close to me inspired me to apply the same process toward my company, Notes and Photos. Yes, I have the talent and the passion for this company but to be surrounded by a team of people who believe in me and in the products is as much important.

A total mess!

Author: Nathalie St-Pierre Roths

Nothing worst than a messy room to take away any inspiration I might have. Not only you waste your time to find the ringing phone buried under a pile of papers but your level of concentration is less than usual.

What about these people who work at home and have to walk by their kid’s room to go their home office? How many times this room is messy? This summer, it was the ultimate argument with my two children to make them put away their room. I can see, with a huge grin, Fall and back to school coming by quickly!

Getting older

Author: Nathalie St-Pierre Roths

Today, I have officially my age plus a half. Because I am born on March 26th, August 26th is my half-year. It is the time to look back what I have accomplished this year but also to realize another age is coming soon. One more year will be added to my age in only 6 months.

The majority of the people hate getting older for many reasons but only a handful love to grow older. We often trust more easily older people and it can become easier in the workplace to get promotion or more responsibilities. These people who are not afraid to get older said that they are growing in maturity but will stay young in their heart. Not bad for such philosophy!

Trials and Errors

Author: Nathalie St-Pierre Roths

A few weeks ago, I sent some PDFs to our Montreal printer so he could do a printing test with all of our cards. After many trials to find the right color and paper combination, the printer finally delivered the products (test) a few days ago.

It is one of my duties to make sure the product print on time and that the quality is never compromised. Since the beginning with Notes and Photos, I have learned a lot. Even more than if I would have done a diploma on the subject.

Despite the workload that comes by having such company, I love what I do. Everyday!
