Sidelighting

LightBehind

Sit your child by a bright window in a darkened room. This will intensively expose the part of the face that receives direct light and cast the contours of the shaded side into contrasting shadown. Here are some tips to embellish the photo:

  • Position the child near a window where you like the light.
  • Ideally, the light should hit your subject at an angle approximately 45 degrees to one side.
  • Sidelighting emphasizes texture, so try dressing your kids in plush velvet, rugged denim, or nubby knits.

Gratitude

gratitude

On this Friday, why not be thankful for things we have in our life? I am suggesting you to take a glass jar and, on little pieces of paper, jolt down what you are happy to have in life. It could either be your children, health, a good job, but I am sure you can find at least one thing that you are proud of.

And, like me, give yourself the goal to fill up completely the jar all the way to the top… without cheating!

Recently, I took the plane with the kids and before crossing the customs, we had tons of fun with our 2-years old nephew. Well, the main attraction was the luggage carrier!

You really have to look upon children’s eyes and have your head filled with imagination so this simple object be transformed magically as a merry-go-round from an amusement park. Yipppeee!

Diary

To juggle work life and personal life is not easy. I decided to start doing an activity I used to do as a teenager. I am returning to my first loves. So, what did I start doing?

I am writing a daily diary. I pen down my thoughts and often, they are intended for one person in particular. When I will not be in this world, I hope that someone will give this diary to that designated person. It will be my way to leave this world while letting my presence stay behind.

Last November, I was contacted to participate to a TV-show about bicycling. The show, produced by Swan Productions, was hosted by Yvan Martineau. This TV series will be broadcasted on the Evasion channel this Spring. I will keep you update when I will be on TV!

Meanwhile, I received a gorgeous bike shirt from the Production. Thank you! I can’t wait to wear it while biking when the rain season will be over!

Imperfection!

Most of the new moms try to be perfect. They dream to be put on a pedestal and worship from the rest of us. As far as the author of the website “Les (Z)imparfaites” (http://www.lesimparfaites.com/), well, it is the opposite!

The way they see things is simple: we are normal and non perfect and we take responsibilities of that! Their website is a place where moms who had enough of their daily life with their kids can get their battery recharge and share their joy and sadness with other mothers.

A fun site to visit!

I fell in love with the cute gift wrapping ideas we find on the adorable website, Bugs and Fishes from the author Laura Howard.

Cute, good, and cheap! The ideal when you look for a wrapping that will stand out from the others. As an art director, I love it!
