Frame

I recently visited someone who had this wonderful pair of 4 painting but that looked like a single painting. I love the concept and it breaks the routine to look at 4 paintings all at once instead of one. Very design and stylish!

Junk mail

Freepaper

When I discovered this Austin, Texas’ artist, I could see that you can create art with basically anything.

Tired of seeing her recycle box piling up with junk mail, Annette Lawrence (http://www.annettelawrence.net/main.html) decided to gather every scrap of unsolicited mail she received at her home for 13 months. She then created an artwork of more than 265 pounds with the materials. She called it Free Paper. We couldn’t be more original…

leaf

Fall is such a nice season. I love the nice foliage colors. Also, walk for hours in family, the two feet in the dead leaves on the ground, ah such a great pleasure!

Why not bring back some of these leaves at home and frame them. When winter will come to our door, we can admire these lovely framed leaves and remember sweet Fall souvenirs…

Free musical concert

concert

A month ago, our family attended an outside classical music concert. The concert was happening at my alma mater and it was free.

I have always given myself the goal to expose my children to the maximum of educational outings. The series of classical concert, performed by the Silicon Valley Symphony, was free to the public because they wanted them to be aware of the beauty of music. My children loved their experience and I have promised myself to bring them again to this kind of event. I also invite you to do the same with your children because the art, whether it is painting, sculpture, dance or music, is a real gem for all.

Winter blankets

Author: Nathalie St-Pierre Roths

Nothing inspire me more than quilts for the winter season. My grandmother made some and she even had her wooden quilt maker. It was one of her biggest joy in life.

A quilt, it is often the start of an inspiration for an artist. The clever mix of shapes and colors give a uniform product. In the past and even the present, these nice blankets inspire me a lot for my art.

A morning with the Chamber of Commerce

Author: Nathalie St-Pierre Roths

I was up bright and early this morning. The reason? I went to hear a talk from Karen Kefauver, a travel journalist who has extensive experience in Twitter. Part of my responsibilities at the company is not only to make sure the quality assurance of the art but also networking and making sure people know about our new company.

We recently joined our local Chamber of Commerce and this seminar, part of the Women in Business program, was a first for me. It gave me a chance to network and meet other women who decided to go in business. I was the only member at the seminar who has an art-related business.

I recommend you visit Karen’s blog as well as follow her on Twitter if you have caught the Tweet-mania fever. She is a very interesting person who has travelled in several countries. I came home inspired by her talk. I hope you will feel the same after reading her blog!
