During this end of the schoolyear, it is time to put the kids to test their knowledge. So, my son wrote and illustrated a book and it was exhibited in a local mall. It is with great pleasure that I read the book with André.

It is all about shows these days… Yesterday, I was talking to you about my son’s play performance. Today, I am talking about my daughter Savannah and her choir. So, she loves singing very much and we registered her in a professional choir. Sunday night’s show required that she wears renaissance-type attire. The evening was a bit long for her but the show was worth it!

Parents’ conference

Last week was the famous week to get our children’s results at school. This is always nerve-racking for us as we put lots of pressure on our children to succeed in school. While in the past years, it was our daughter who was challenged to be successful, not the table turned and it is our son.

I guess the joy to be a boy and be the clown in the classroom. We hope as he matures, he will gain self-confidence and be able to be serious at school and do all his work in a time manner. Perhaps you have the same problem at your house…

Some camping

CampingTrip

This morning, my daughter Savannah is gone for a camping trip with her school. While these trips have been happening since she is 6, it is the first time that we are not allowing parents on these trips. I know it won’t be a huge trauma for Savannah, because since she is 4, she sleeps at her friends’ houses.

But this made me realized that she is not a little girl anymore. She is almost about to be a pre-teen. I hope she will have fun whispering during long hours under her sleeping bag, have fun activities with her numerous friends and especially, that she won’t miss us too much.

We will be happy to see her again on Friday night!

Creative lunch

It seems that when I was young and we were opening our lunchbox, everything was grey and depressing.

These days, it is a pleasure for moms to create real artworks with food sent to their kids. For example, creating a one-of-a-kind sandwich. I discovered this charming photo collage of lunches for kids off the Internet the other day.

It gives me appetite and especially inspiration to do my kids’ lunches tomorrow morning.

Back to school

When I start seeing sales of school supplies in the big department stores at the beginning of August, I know it smells the “Back-to-School” season.

Depending if your child attends a public or private school, back to school is at a different date. It is the case for my kids. Despite the fact that they end the schoolyear at the same time than the neighbor’s kids, they start school two weeks later than them.

And honestly, these two weeks are often really long. Because of the lack of friends to play with during the day or all the summer camps have already folded, we often hear this sentence, so typical for youth of their age: “I’m bored.” Well, me too, after all!
